Hey Old Timer Gossip: A "Where Are They Now?" story about stars of cop and detective shows.

Publication: Globe
Date: 5 Dec. 2011

This week's Meanest Story competition is not as mean as recent weeks when there have been several Brave Last Days Alerts.  Two reasons for this are that the low rent Examiner wasn't delivered to the usual places in Oakland and the Globe had a massive cover story that isn't mean. They have a list of old detective and cop shows with pictures of the stars. They may say some of them are going through hard times in the story inside, but on the cover it's just an invitation to nostalgia. Here are the stars and shows mentioned, each with a picture. There is a promise of an 11 page spread with even more photos.  Here is the list from the cover, both of stars and shows.
  • Don Johnson Miami Vice
  • Angie Dickinson Police Woman
  • Cybill Sheperd Moonlighting
  • Edd Byrnes 77 Sunset Strip
  • Tyne Daly and Sharon Gless Cagney and Lacey
  • Dennis Franz NYPD Blue
  • Martin Milner and Kent McCord Adam 12
There is also a picture of the case of The Mod Squad, but no names were included.  They are in a separate post.

Comfy Shoes Alert™:Both of Cybil Shepherd's daughters are gay!

Publication: National Examiner
Date: 12 July 2010

The headline in the Examiner used an exclamation point and so will I. One of the daughters is a little over 30 and the other just over 20, and if they take after their mama even just a little bit, they could be super fine honeys. The lavender contingent of my reading public should take note.

They Fought The Law Alert™:Kids of celebrities are no damn good!

Publication: National Examiner
Date: 1 Mar. 2010

The Examiner wants you to know that celebrities make bad parents. Among the celebrities mentioned are Michael Douglas from Wall Street, Priscilla Presley of Naked Gun fame, Moonlighting star Cybill Shepard and star of Lethal Weapon Mel Gibson. I bring up these works from the late 1980s because that's the last time you could actually call all these people "celebrities".

Granted, Mel Gibson is just as famous now as he was back then, but young people might not be aware that he used to be an actor and not just a mouthy anti-Semitic drunk who calls cops "Sugar Tits".

So much information gets lost along the way, even with the Internets to help.
