To my friends who write, ask yourself this question and be honest. Have you written a lede as good as the following?
“AT WHAT time does he have to be back in the seminary?” The question might seem innocent enough, were it not for the fact that the man asking it is a Papal Gentleman, Angelo Balducci, and the man of whom he is asking it is his pimp, Vatican chorister and Nigerian, Chinediu Thiomas Ehiem.
I know I haven't.
The tabloids would LOVE to have this story about a high end prostitution ring at the Vatican. According to the Irish Times, Balducci and others are reported to have paid up to 2,000 Euros a pop for time with the rent boys Ehiem would procure for him, a line-up that included illegal immigrants and seminary students. That means Vatican hookers cost about what Elliot Spitzer paid for his girls, and let's recall that Spitzer was buying some of the most primo tail New York has to offer.
